01Who we are
NirmanDost ("we", "us") is a construction-and-housing platform operated by SMP Enterprise, an Indian sole-proprietorship registered in Gujarat. Our website is nirmandost.in.
We're the data fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023. If you have any questions, write to us at privacy@nirmandost.in.
02What data we collect
We try to collect as little as possible. Specifically:
Required (you give it to us)
- Mobile number — for OTP login. We store a one-way SHA-256 hash on our servers; the original number lives only in your browser.
- Name & city — when you save an estimate, contact a pro, or list as a pro.
- Pro listing details — business name, GST (optional), description, services, photo, when you join as a pro.
Auto-collected (technical)
- IP address — for rate limiting and abuse protection. Not retained beyond 60 minutes.
- Browser type & device size — for analytics, anonymized.
- Local storage keys — saved estimates, theme preference, credit balance, language. Stored only on your device.
Inferred / generated
- Chat transcripts — what you type to Nirman AI (10-day TTL on our side, optional save to your account).
- Calculator inputs — only stored if you explicitly export or save.
03How we use your data
- Run the service — log you in, save your estimates, route contact requests to pros.
- Improve features — anonymous, aggregated metrics on which calculators get used most. No individual tracking.
- Prevent abuse — rate-limiting, OTP attempt blocks, fake-listing detection.
- Power Nirman AI — your prompts are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate replies. The provider does not retain prompts beyond 30 days under their zero-retention agreement.
We do not use your data for advertising. We don't run ads on the site.
04Who we share data with
Only the minimum needed, only with these processors:
- Cloudflare — hosting, DDoS protection, KV storage. Servers in India + Singapore.
- Anthropic — Claude AI for chat replies. US-based. Zero-retention agreement.
- Fast2SMS / MSG91 — to deliver OTP and lead notifications. India-based.
- Razorpay — when you buy credits. India-based, RBI-licensed.
- Pros you contact — your name, city, and message are shown to the specific pro you reach out to. Your phone is shared only after you and they explicitly agree.
We never sell data. We never share with advertisers, brokers, or unrelated third parties.
05Your rights under DPDP Act 2023
You have the following rights, exercisable any time:
- Access — know what data we have on you. Email privacy@nirmandost.in; we respond within 7 days.
- Correction — fix anything wrong. Most fields can be edited from your dashboard.
- Erasure — delete your account and all data. Click below or use the dashboard's "Delete account" button. Action is irreversible.
- Withdraw consent — opt out of features. Note that some features (login, contacting pros) require certain data; withdrawing it disables them.
- Grievance — file a complaint with our Grievance Officer below. If unresolved, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Delete my account & all data
Removes your user record, chat sessions, saved estimates, and pro listing (if any). Phone hash is purged. This cannot be undone.
06Cookies & local storage
We do not use third-party cookies. We do use your browser's localStorage for:
nd_credits_v1— a cached copy of your credit balance (the real balance lives in your account; 5 free on signup)nd_theme— light or dark modend_user_v1— your name, city, verified status (set after OTP login)nd_pro_v1— your pro listing copy (so the form pre-fills if you edit)nd_estimates— saved estimates (only if you click "Save")
Clear browser data to wipe these. We don't read or transmit them anywhere.
07How long we keep data
- OTP codes — 5 minutes, then auto-deleted.
- Chat sessions — 10 days from last message.
- Saved estimates — 90 days from creation.
- User accounts — 90 days from last login. Inactive accounts auto-purge.
- Pro listings — until you delete them or your account.
- Contact requests — 30 days, for dispute resolution.
- IP addresses — 60 minutes, for rate limiting only.
08Security
Reasonable security measures we take:
- HTTPS / TLS 1.3 everywhere — no plain HTTP traffic.
- Phone numbers stored as SHA-256 hashes (one-way; cannot be reversed).
- OTP locked after 5 wrong attempts; new OTP rate-limited.
- Cloudflare DDoS protection.
- No customer data on our laptops or local backups.
- API keys and secrets stored as Cloudflare Worker secrets — not in source code.
No system is 100% secure. If we suffer a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you and the Data Protection Board within 72 hours, as required by law.
09Children's data
NirmanDost is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that a child has provided data, please email us and we'll delete it promptly. Pro listings require legal-adult verification.

01Acceptance
By using NirmanDost (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old. If you're using NirmanDost for a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.
02Account & verification
NirmanDost uses OTP-based login — no passwords. You're responsible for the mobile number you sign up with and for any activity under that account.
- One mobile number = one user account.
- One mobile number = one pro listing (you can update, not duplicate).
- Phone numbers are SHA-256 hashed on our servers.
- Sharing OTPs is at your risk. We will never call you to ask for an OTP.
03Free vs. paid (Credits)
Most features are free: estimator, all 12 calculators, vastu page, browsing the directory, basic AI chat (5 starting credits).
Some features cost credits:
- 1.5 credits — AI chat reply, AI estimate analysis, AI vastu report, ask AI about a calculator result.
- 1 credit — refresh today's market price for a material.
- 6 credits — unlock an IS code cheat sheet (one-time per code).
- 1.5 credits — AI FSI analysis, AI location advisory.
Credits are purchased via Razorpay. 50 credits = ₹49, 200 credits = ₹149. Credits do not expire. They are not refundable except as required by law (see §07).
04User content & listings
If you list as a pro, post a review, or share a calculator/estimate publicly, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, format, and distribute that content on the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring the content is true and that you have the rights to it. Don't:
- Misrepresent your business, credentials, GST status, or experience.
- Upload photos that aren't yours or which you don't have rights to share.
- Use offensive language or solicit users for unrelated services.
- Post fake reviews — yours or others'.
Violations result in listing removal and a permanent ban on that mobile number. We may report severe violations (fraud, criminal solicitation) to law enforcement.
05AI estimates & calculator disclaimer
Construction projects vary widely by site conditions, season, vendor relationships, statutory approvals, and design choices. Always consult a licensed civil engineer, architect, or qualified contractor before making decisions involving money, structural safety, or legal compliance.
NirmanDost is not liable for cost overruns, structural defects, regulatory denials, or any loss arising from reliance on Service outputs.
06Pro directory & contact requests
The pro directory is a discovery tool. NirmanDost is a marketplace, not a contractor or employer. We do not vet pros beyond OTP verification and (where provided) GST validation. We strongly recommend you:
- Verify credentials, GST, and prior work in person.
- Sign a written contract with milestone payments.
- Pay via UPI/cheque, not cash, for a paper trail.
Contact requests are SMS-relayed via Fast2SMS. We don't guarantee response times. Disputes between user and pro are between the parties; NirmanDost is not a party to your contract and provides no warranty on the work performed.
07Payments, refunds & taxes
Credit purchases are processed by Razorpay. By paying, you agree to Razorpay's terms.
Refund policy
- Unused credits are not refundable. They simply remain on your account.
- If credits were charged but not credited due to a technical error, email us within 7 days; we'll refund within 14 working days.
- Goods & Services Tax (GST) at the prevailing rate is included in displayed prices.
You will receive a tax invoice for every payment, sent to your registered email if provided.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
NirmanDost sells digital credits and services. Once credits are delivered to your account they are consumed on use and cannot be cancelled; unused credits simply remain on your account and do not expire.
- Failed or duplicate payments: if you were charged but credits were not added, contact us within 7 days (see Contact Us below). Verified cases are refunded to the original payment method within 7–14 working days.
- Order cancellation: a payment can be cancelled any time before it is completed — simply close the payment window; no amount is deducted for incomplete payments.
- RFQs and enquiries: sending or withdrawing a material enquiry is free and carries no cancellation charge.
Shipping & Delivery Policy
NirmanDost is a digital service. We do not ship physical goods.
- Credits and digital tools are delivered instantly to your account upon successful payment confirmation — there is nothing to ship.
- Building materials discussed through the marketplace are supplied directly by independent dealers; any delivery of materials is agreed between you and the dealer on the dealer's terms. NirmanDost is not the seller or shipper of materials.

08Intellectual property
The NirmanDost name, logo, design system, code, and all original content are the intellectual property of SMP Enterprise. You may use the Service for personal or business purposes; you may not:
- Copy, scrape, or republish the Service or its content.
- Reverse engineer the AI prompts, calculator formulas, or backend.
- Use the brand name or logo without written permission.
Government-issued symbols (Ashoka Pillar, Satyameva Jayate) appear on the CPWD app for fidelity to the source schedule and remain the property of the Government of India.
09Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, NirmanDost and SMP Enterprise's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, capped at ₹5,000.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — even if foreseeable. We make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that estimates will match actual costs.
10Termination
You may stop using NirmanDost any time by closing the browser tab. To delete your account and data, see Privacy Policy §05.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you:
- Violate these Terms.
- Use the Service for fraud, harassment, or illegal activity.
- Try to overload, hack, or scrape the Service.
- Misrepresent listings, post fake reviews, or solicit users off-platform via spam.
11Disputes & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Before filing a court case, please email grievance@nirmandost.in — we'll attempt to resolve in good faith within 30 days.
Consumer-protection rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 are not waived by these Terms.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time — to reflect new features, comply with law, or clarify language. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and we'll show a banner on the homepage for 14 days after a material change.
Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, please delete your account before the effective date.
